I’m a self proclaimed ‘huge’ movie fan. The thing is, that doesn’t always translate into me seeing all of the films I should see or even all the films that I want to see. Generally, I end up seeing movies that are popular on a given weekend, something that usually includes superheros, or whatever is on one of the movie networks on a lazy Sunday lounging with my wife.

With all that said, I’ve decided to take a step in the right direction and catch-up on my film ‘viewage’. Again. For those that know me, I attempted this a while ago. I have to say I was very pleased with the results and thus, am now going to reboot the experience and stick with it. I’m beginning with the films of the Coen Brothers.

The first time I attempted this, I used the Coen Brothers as jumping off point. At that time, I’d seen, and loved, about half of their movies however my experience with their work was fairly limited to their well known classics such as THE BIG LEBOWSKI, NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN, and FARGO. Since my last COEN BROTHERS FILM EXPERIENCE, I’ve seen many of their other films and can easily say that I am truly a fan of their stuff. Rebooting this project means I can not only re-experience their films but at the same time complete my viewing of the rest of their work.

In total, they’ve written and directed 15 films. I plan on seeing each one either again, or for the first time beginning with my re-visitation of 1984′s BLOOD SIMPLE.

Here is the way it’s going to work: Each week I am going to watch one of their films. I encourage you to follow along according to the schedule below. On the Wednesday of that week, I’m going to post my reaction to the movie. My goal is to see each of their 15 movies in 15 weeks and at the end of it, have a Flickchart type ranking of for their body of work.

Each blog reaction will have an updated list of how the films fall in order of my favorite all the way down to my least favorite. Stay tuned.
